What We Believe

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God, without error in their original writings, and the supreme authority for faith and practice.

​We believe in one sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

History
1913 - Baptist missionaries first came to Englehart in 1913.
1936 - November - Rev. Reed from North Bay came this way for a visit. He found several Baptist families living in Englehart, and when a meeting was held on November 1st with 29 interested souls showed up.
This led to the starting of a Sunday School, a Ladies' Group, a Youth Program and Saturday night meetings for prayer and Bible Study.

Mr. Frank B. Keyes begins serving as Pastor.
1937 - June the Englehart Baptist Church was organized on June 19th with eight chartered members.
1937 - July Then a building was erected at the site where it still stands today. It cost all of $3,500
​
1937 - December 12th The official opening took place. The Home Mission Board sent Dr. Schutt from as the guest speaker.
1939 - membership roll increased to 25 believers.
1967 - 36 members and an average attendance of
27 in the Sunday School.

2005 - June Pastor Gloria Lawrence had to close the close the church, and remained closed that summer.
​
2005 - Fall Rev. Fred Goliath from Elliott Lake was able to rally a small remnant. It was decided to ask Rudy Kaufmann, an itinerant preacher and missionary, and his wife Ruth, a music teacher to preach for a few weeks.
​
2026 - June That four week trial run for Rudy and Ruth has turned into over 20 years of shepherding the small Englehart congregation teaching and encouraging each soul to "Rejoice in the Lord, Always!", All to the
glory of God.
